Rules, Infractions and Staff Adjudication

All of the rules here are punishable if broken. You will see the initial punishment listed as your “first infraction”. If you break the same rule more than once, your punishment will increase in severity.

Staff reserve the right to adjust punishments at their discretion based on circumstances, so do not hold the punishments in stone. This allows our staff to make decisions for the betterment of MellowCraft, without being bound to follow a guide that does not fit the situation.

MellowCraft reserves the right to remove any player from the server at any time if their behaviour or presence is deemed inconsistent with the values and standards of the owner. MellowCraft is under no obligation to disclose the reason for removal to the player in question.

If something is not in the rules?

If something is not listed in this official rule list, it does not mean that it is not punishable. , this rule list may be modified at any time. The rules will be followed by spirit rather than letter, the spirit of the “no griefing” rule as an example is that you do not grief builds. Trying to find a spot in a player's claim that is not claimed and griefing it is still considered griefing, even if they did not claim it.

Appeals

All punishments applied by moderation are appealable. If you believe you did not break a rule, or if you are apologetic about your behaviour, were unaware it was a rule, you may appeal your ban/mute. This does not guarantee an unban/unmute. If the staff team decides that the punishment did not fit the crime, your punishment may be reduced or removed.

Claim Related Rules

Once you set a claim, that area is yours. However, please be aware that if your claim is within 100 blocks of another player, disrupts their ability to expand their claim, or causes a disruption, your claim may be removed. You are free to build wherever you would like, but if you have several chests of items and a 6 story mansion with all of your items, and are forced to move, that is on you. Staff are unlikely to take the time to move your build for you. If someones claim expires or you find an unclaimed base, you must ask staff before you claim over the area. This is to avoid any issues of a person potentially forgetting to claim their things, theft, or other related issues.

Chunk Farm Sizes

Large scale automatic farms can only be 3x3x3 in chunk size, and if you are building 2, it is necessary that you make sure that the second farm is at least 8 chunks away from the other farm.

Inappropriate Skins/Usernames/Nicknames

Having an inappropriate skin, username or nickname will result in you being warned, kicked, or banned until the inappropriate skin/username/nickname is changed.

Examples of inappropriate skins and usernames are anything related to war, sex, politics and controversial figures or imagery.

Chat Guidelines

There are several chat rules that we enforce on MellowCraft.

• No begging

• No arguing with players/staff

• Character spamming/chat flooding

• Languages other than English in global chat

• Inappropriate language/discussions

• Encouraging rule breaking

• Excessive swearing

• Filter bypassing

• Toxic behavior

• Keep adverts for Player Warps / Events or similar 30 minutes apart

• No toxicity / negative comments towards those opening keys, using the /bar feature or if you lose a coinflip.

On MellowCraft, we strive to keep the global channel clean, free of spam, inappropriate behavior/language, and things that may cause other players to feel uncomfortable or annoyed. Examples of inappropriate discussions in chat include drugs, war, sex and controversial topics.

Advertising in /ah

If you have been on any economy survival server, you have likely seen an item on auction house be listed for $999,999,999 that is advertising items or player warps. To avoid clutter in the auction house, please do not use auction house as a way to advertise.

Discrimination and Racism

On MellowCraft, we strive to have a community that can bridge the gap between all players, no matter where you are from, your background, your religion, your race, your gender, etc. We are a welcoming community who do not tolerate any discriminatory or racist behavior directed towards groups or individuals.

Harassment and Sexual Harassment

These behaviours are strictly not tolerated on MellowCraft. These behaviours will result in a mute or ban depending on severity. Please be respectful to the community. This rule also applies to messages outside of the server on Discord/other social media. If you use any social media to sexually harass or harass another player, you will be punished in the same way you would be if you did it publicly on the server.

PvP Farming

As our server supports PvP as a way to gain keys, we do not allow PvP farming. This includes letting your friends kill you, your friends allowing you to kill them, or offering money in exchange for keys. This behavior will result in a temporary ban.

“Fake” Items in /ah

Putting misleading items on auction houses is not allowed. For example, if you put an item on auction house that is a fake version of a crate item, it will be removed from the auction house and you will receive a ban. If a player buys your fake item, their money will be returned and you will be banned.

Ban/Mute Evasion

Using alternate accounts to bypass your punishments on your main account is not allowed. If you bypass a mute, your mute will be extended to your alt account and extended on your main account. Ban evasion will result in your ban being extended and an IP ban. Mute evasion can be done by, but is not limited to, using DMs, signs, books, item names, or any other method of communication to bypass the mute. All forms of mute evasion are taken seriously and will result in additional punishments.

Indecent Builds/Inappropriate Signs

If you create a build that is inappropriate (ex. Genitalia, swastikas, concentration camps, etc) you will receive a ban depending on the severity of your build, and the build will be removed. If you are placing signs in public places that are inappropriate, use slurs or inappropriate language, you will be warned or banned depending on severity.

0 Tick Farms, Auto Harvesters, Flying Machines/AFK Machines

These farms, as they may cause large scale lag issues, are strictly not allowed on MellowCraft. If you are found to have built one of these farms, you will be warned to remove your build, and if you refuse you will be banned temporarily or permanently.

Griefing, Theft, Scamming, RDM

Griefing any player's build, stealing from a player, or scamming a player are all behaviors that will result in a temporary or permanent ban. RDM (Random deathmatch) is not allowed. PvP is disabled in all worlds besides PvP for this reason.

TP Trapping/Nether Portal Trapping

Teleporting another player into lava, trapping them in a nether portal, or purposefully teleporting a player to a place to trap them and kill them is not allowed, and will result in a temporary or permanent ban depending on severity.

Death Threats/Suicidal Encouragement

Any death threat or suicidal encouragement will be met with severe punishment. MellowCraft is a place for fun, and this behaviour is inherently toxic, disruptive, and rude. If you use death threats or encourage another player to commit suicide, you will be permanently banned.

Doxxing/Releasing Personal Information

If you are being doxxed by a player or group of players, please immediately contact an administrator with proof, names, and relevant information. This action will result in a permanent ban to the person who doxxed you. This includes leaking social media accounts, real names, emails, addresses and phone numbers. You will be subject to a similar, but reduced punishment if you release your own information publicly.

Xray/Disallowed Modifications

We do not allow any modification that gives a player an unfair advantage over other players. This includes:

• Xray

• Hacked clients

• Minimaps with entity tracking/cave mapping

• Autoclickers

• Auto-fishers

• Auto-miners

• Keyweighting (Using a physical device to hold down a key)

• Macros (Aside from single-command chat macros)

• Block ESP

• Auto totems

• Easyplace without proper bypass

• Freecam

Real World Trading

Trading any in game item for real world money is strictly disallowed, and will result in an immediate permanent ban.

Duping

Any duping is strictly disallowed. If you find a dupe you did not mean to find, report to an administrator immediately. If you are found to be abusing duping methods, you will be permanently banned.

Server Advertising, Linking non-MellowCraft Links

This rule includes IP addresses for other servers, mentioning other servers in public chat, using a script to spam chat with a message about another server, or social media ads. The punishment for a prepared script is a permanent ban. The punishment for a non-MellowCraft related IP, server name, or link to a place outside of MellowCraft is left to staff discretion based on severity. Players are allowed to advertise in game shops, warps and services. This rule applies to everything that is non Mellowcraft related

Spambotting

Spambotting is using a bot to run a prepared script that spams a message or command. This will result in an immediate permanent ban.

Mapart Rules

Do not resell mapart unless it is allowed by the creator. Do not steal maparts. If you believe a mapart you want to make may be considered inappropriate, please make a ticket and ask before starting it. Easyplace is reserved for those who are Peaceful+ in rank. If you are making a map art, the area must be claimed.

Resource grinding and the Build World

Do not use the main build world to grind for resources. Instead, use /wild or /warps and use the given resource worlds. If a player is found to be resource griefing the build world, the area will be rolled back and the player punished based off of the severity of the grief.

Toxicity

If it is deemed by staff that a users behaviour is inherently or repeatedly toxic, you will be permanently banned or muted.

Pwarps

If you have been banned from a player warp you are not to bypass the ban by using other players, an alt or similar. This includes those who use the same IP address as you. If you have been pwarp banned, everybody on your IP has been. Pwarps are not to be used to bypass the sethome limit per rank. No pointless or offensive PW's. Player warps cost 10k to create and 1k per month in upkeep. If you remove the claim that the pwarp is attached to, it will be removed. Pwarps are non-refundable whatsoever. Troll pwarps of similar will be removed by staff.

Alt Accounts

No alt accounts are allowed to be logged into the server when the pop is 100 or above 100. Voting, afk-ing at farms, doing quests and using the AFK area is allowed. You are not allowed to use your alt to bypass a PW ban, mute or ban ect.

You can only have one alt account online at a time. You cannot use alt accounts to artificially inflate the price of your Bidwar.

Roleplaying / Events

To avoid spamming general chat for every user, using global for events / role playing is not allowed.

Referrals

Spamming other players who you have not referred or abusing the referral plugin is not allowed.

Build Worlds and Claiming

All builds made by a user in the claimworlds must be claimed to prevent griefing or similar. You cannot claim the main end island, if you do so your builds / claim will be removed.

Accessing the Nether Roof

We do not allow for players to go to the nether roof or build on the nether roof due to exploits, performance issues, and unfair advantages.

Redstone Limits

The global limit for 1 chunk is 750 redstone parts. Per chunk, you may use: - 64 Observers - 64 Dispensers - 64 Droppers - 64 Pistons - 64 Sticky Pistons The limit for all other redstone parts is 320.

Mini Modding

Mini modding is when a regular player acts like they are a part of our staff team. This includes warning, threatening, punishing or policing other peoples behavior in chat. If there is an issue, please report it to our staff rather than attempting to handle the situation yourself. This includes: - Telling another player they will be warned, muted, kicked or banned - Shaming/punishing others in chat for behavior that is to be handled by a staff member - Putting things like "Please read the rules!" in your welcome message to a new player - Spamming chat with rule reminders - Claiming or implying you have staff authority when you do not - Attempting to resolve disputes on your own rather than reporting them - Investigating players on your own for rule breaking behavior
